Let me just begin by saying that I am by no means in support of polygamy. I am also not a Mormon and believe with every fiber of my being that it is a cult. However, as an American citizen I would fight for the protection of the Mormon's right to believe their religion. I do, of course, think that they were wrong and in violation of American law with their heinous culture of polygamy. It is a despicable act and it should be punished to the full extent of the law. I don't believe, however, that the children should be taken from their mothers. It is not the state's authority nor right, given by the people, to step into the affairs of the children. In many instances, the mothers had no choice in the matters that went on at the compound in Texas. I don't understand where they are coming from at all. I know that they say that there were cases of abuse but they have not shown any at all. I think if there was abuse and they do prove it then yes they should protect the children. But, this is just one more step towards a completely government run nation. I still believe in a Constitution instituted by the people and for the people.

Very true, Adam. If the government can pluck their children out of their families, then it won't be long before other religious groups are targeted.
We've been seeing time and time again how the government is creating more and more reasons to take children out of families for hardly any reason at all... if that makes sense.
The way it was is no longer the way it is, according to them. I remember growing up and seeing how parents had to begin to take more caution in how they publically disciplined their children. Although, it seemed like mine never cared where we were when they smacked me around, lol.
Some kids have even learned how to turn their parents in for reasons that should never result in the government getting involved.
That's the democrat way of life, and that's the kind of junk that will continue to escalate as long as the democrats sit in congress.
Unfortunately, Dave it is not just Democrats. It is the Republicans way ,as well. The Republicans have been for many years just as corrupt, just as hungry for approval. President Bush has set in motion many unfortunate actions that affect the families of the U.S.
Fill me in, Adam. I'm curious. Seriously, I don't disagree with you. Rather, I'm uneducated on those things you refer to.
I just know that the President is often times stuck with a liberal congress. But, like I said, I don't know all that he has set in motion. I am interested, though, in finding out.
I meant Dave, merely that the lack of action on the President's part has not helped the family. I understand that the true power of the American government lies within the Legislative Branch which is Congress, but Bush had a Republican congress for many years. After 8 years of a Conservative we are no closer than we were before. The government is just as powerful if not more powerful than it was before his term. His stance on gay rights is well known but yet he signed the bill that would give the powers to the state rather. This eliminated his power over the situation. He also is a proponent of the hate crime bill in Congress right now. This would greatly affect the churches and families of America. I like him and I think he did a marvelous job, but my point is that the Republicans have done no better for America than the Democrats have.
I see what you're saying. I didn't really get into politics until the last year anyway. So, I didn't know a whole lot about the President's stand on different issues, or how his terms have affected the country.
However, I still don't feel right about saying that Republicans have done no better for America than Democrats. Unless you are referring to Bush's terms and not in general.
Well Bush is not and never was a Conservative. He seeks approval in the weirdest situations, while he does not seek approval on other things. He has no balance most of the time.
I still believe as do many, that America will go down from within. I still believe that America will have another Civil War. I hope and pray I am wrong, but it looks this way.
America will never have another Civil War. There is not a big enough ideological divide. The divide is a divide of morals.
America will not have another Civil War because most people do not believe in anything as strongly as the South believed in their state rights. Most people in the United States would rather "Be RED than Dead" Most Americans have no idea what they believe and therefore have no reason to fight. That includes most politicians. the only thing they fight over is power. Most americans think we are as crazy as the mormons and it won't belong before they will be arresting us for spanking our children. I hope Jesus comes back soon.
Well said Bob. Take the election for example. This current election has become a huge racial issue. The NAACP is ridiculous. You can't say anything without being targeted as a racist.
My point being that many Americans today are only concerned about "getting theirs". That's what they strongly believe in the most - that they deserve better than what they have and that the government needs to give it to them.
The racist portion is just an example. There are other Americans who don't struggle with that issue, but still think along the same lines when it comes to their own selfishness.
Adam, your latest comment on Josh's blog has inspired me. No, I didn't go ahead and make Northern Sports Beat.
However, this is probably going to stir up just as much chaos.

not that I think that the state should be interfering in personal lives, and am probably more libertarian than republicrat but what about the fact that most of these children do not know which lady is their mother and several of the mothers are products of statutory rape? How far should we let things go before we step in and say that it is enough. we just watched a video on polygamy last wednesday I think it is from hope ministries it was called lifting the veil of polygamy it is available to view online google it and watch it, it is very informative.
Still waiting on the unveiling of the "Team Hot Route" poster, Adam.
What gives?
